Preparation Lab
Step 01
Gently melt the margarine over a low-medium heat then add the soy milk and 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil and mix together. Take off the heat once combined.
Step 02
In a separate bowl, combine the flour, half of the sugar, baking powder and salt with a fork then make a well in the centre.
Step 03
Pour the margarine mixture into the well and combine gradually until a thick dough forms.
Step 04
Roll the dough into little flat balls with floured hands then press a hole in the centre of each with your thumb to shape doughnuts.
Step 05
Heat the litre of oil in a pan. To check it's ready, fry a little piece of bread: if it browns and floats to the top in 45-50 seconds, the oil is hot enough.
Step 06
Gently lay the doughnuts into the oil with a spatula and fry for 3-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Step 07
Transfer to kitchen paper to soak up excess oil then roll in the remaining sugar and enjoy!
